Rollie Pollie

Our Little Man has some new tricks up his sleeve! Cade has rolled over once before a while back, but now it is no accident. He rolls over from his tummy to his back! He gets frustrated if he can't do it quick enough:)
If placed on his back, he is pushing onto his side, so I expect him to be able to roll from back to tummy very soon.
We are so proud of our Rollie Pollie!
So without further adieu.... here he is! (Such a show off, dontcha think!?:)

River Rats

Last weekend we headed out to the river with Brad's lifeguarding buddies and their kiddos. Being that it was over 100 degrees, we decided to leave the Cade Man with Mimi & Poppy. This gave Brad & I quality time together... well with the dogs too of course.... because what's a river trip without Man's Best Friend?

I love this pic... I caught Donny mid laugh! I think they were reminiscing old times. Or maybe we were talking about 'posting a time'?? Ha ha
Penny had a blast to say the least :) As did the Chewster. They swam often to keep cool.
This is the view from the dock. Brad and I were in the water and Penny actually jumped off the dock and swam to us. It was the cutet thing ever. Brad was quite proud:)

Carrie & I enjoying a little R&R...

Brad taking a break for a pic...

The kiddos on their peddle boat... (what trhe heck do you call those boats anyway?) I couldn't help but think how much Cade will love this when he gets older:)

Brad with his best friend Chris and Chris' 2 boys, Burke & Derek.

Donny's daughter, Katie & I (and Chewy & Penny of course). Notice Penny hanging off the edge trying to get the courage to take another jump off. She shocked us with how brave she was! Who knew!?

That's it! We had a blast! Thanks to Chris and Carrie for having us and sharing your toys. I am now addicted to jet skiing:)

Kissing Cousins

We had a Jacobsen family BBQ and had to grab a picture of the kiddos. Cade was borrowing Sofia's bouncy chair:) Here is Cade, Skylar, Sofia, & Will. Aren't they cute!?

Hats Off To My Little Man

I just love this little guy! And with that hat on, I just want to eat him up:)
My little rocker:)

Family ...

I just love mine... dogs included:) That's why we all decided to head out for a quick walk to the beach. Chewy & Penny love it because we can let go of their leashes and let them sprint. They love to wrestle and play in the water. I love seeing them so happy! Here's Brad running with them as Cade & I look on.

Taking a dip:)

Inspired On Our 12 Miler

Let me start with some background....
Whenever I run, I always look passerbys (other runners, walkers, bikers, etc) in the face and smile and/or say 'Good Morning'. The other day I was telling Brad how amazed I was at how rude some people are b/c they won't look you in the eye - or even worse, they look at me, I smile, and they look away! Aren't smiles contagious? How can you just look away when someone smiles at you!?! I will never understand that. It was too funny b/c Brad then tells me that he never looks people in the eye when he jogs. Ha! Here I was venting about 'rude' people and my own husband is one of them! Different strokes for different folks, I guess. So now, Brad teases me about being social even while on a run. Ok, so keep this story in mind as you continue to read.... we will come back to it.

This morning Cade & I had a 12 mile run on our training schedule. Cade woke up at 5:45am to eat, so once he was done I put him back to 'bed' in the stroller. This way he could go back to bed while I got the long run out of the way. I was worried he would wake up mid run, so Brad was 'on-call' in case I needed to swing back by the house to do a 'pass-off', but nope... my Little Sidekick was a champ for all 12 miles:) What a guy! Here he is at the beginning.... right before falling back to sleep. Here is our view at about 5 miles in....Quick break for a Mommy & Baby shot!
We ran by the hotel that Brad & I stayed in the night of our wedding... top left corner was our room!
Then we jogged over to the Scene Of The Crime! This is where we tied the knot 2.5 years ago:) And this is the grass field right across the street where we took our wedding pictures. I just love that I get to see 'Our Spot' on my runs. And I can show Cade where Mommy & Daddy got married:)Told ya he slept the whole time....Ok... here is where I finish up my story from earlier.
When I was down by the wedge, I passed this older man who was going the opposite direction.... I was impressed that he was running. But then, I passed him again about 4 miles later! Now I was REALLY impressed! I smiled (of course) and kept on trucking. Cade & I were at 11.25 miles and you'll never guess.... yep, passed by him again! Now remember how social I am...so at this point I HAD to stop him for a quick chat.

Me: Excuse me. I just HAVE to ask you - how far are you running today?! I saw you all the way down at the wedge earlier!

Him: 20 miles.

Me: (Gasp!) Wow! You must be training for a marathon... I am so impressed! If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

Him: 75. (Yep, you read that right!) I have been running for 35 yrs. I once got hit by a truck while running and told the Doc to put me back together so I can run again. The Doc was a bigger guy and I talked him into running - now he does marathons too.

Me: Wow.... how fast do you run?

Gordon: (Somewhere in here we exchanged names) Well, my fastest marathon was 2hrs, 46 min. which was about a 6 1/2 min mile.

Michelle: (Thinking Holy Moley!) I am so inspired! I thought I was fast and my best time is 3hrs, 43 min. So nice to meet you... care if I put you on my blog and take your pic? Have a great day...I'm sure I'll see ya next week on the boardwalk!

Just a Few Random Pix...

Daddy & Cade.... don'tcha just LOVE Cade's hat!? Caught sleeping on the job :)

Chewy thinks Cade's toys are his!

Can I just freeze time so my Little Man can stay this size? Look how cute he is with his monkey!

Happy Grandparents Day!

In light of Grandparents Day, Cade & I drove out to my parents' house to have dinner, watch some reality TV, and spend the night. We first stopped at my mom's school so Cade could meet her 1st graders. We then headed to Mimi & Poppy's house before school got out to beat the crowds. When we arrived, this was awaiting us.... so cute:) Cade was out like a light while Mimi rocked him. Good thing.... we were able to watch our show!

He laid next to Poppy for some male bonding time.
I just love that Cade gets to see his Mimi & Poppy so much. Thanks for the good food, great convo, and laughs. I think we might just have to make this a weekly tradition! Happy Grandparents Day! We love you!
Love,

Happy 2 Month Birthday, CadeMan!

Wow, time flies! They're not kidding when they say how fast babies grow! Look how fast our little Love Bug has grown in just 2 short months....

Length: 24in (87th percentile) - where is he getting this height from!? So crazy!

1 Month
Weight: 8lbs 15oz (33rd percentile)
Length: 22in (75th percentile)
1 Week
Weight: 7lbs 8oz
Length: 20.5in
Happy 2 Months, Baby Boy! In no time at all you will be able to eat these cupcakes with Mommy & Daddy!Since the Doc said we should start your bedtime routine at 2 months, I decided to start 1 night early. We gave you a bath, a bottle, and then we read a book together. You (ok, I) chose "Guess How Much I Love You". You liked looking at the pictures. You must've liked your routine b/c guess what....!?... you slept for 6 hrs straight (up from 5 hrs)! This is the morning of your 2 month birthday. Daddy paused for a picture before walking out the door for work.Right after this picture we went on a run (like most mornings) and then had to get ready for your Doc Appt. Mommy was very nervous b/c you had to get some shots. You were such a champ though! You cried during the shots (which were super quick) and then stopped the minute I picked you up. I LOVE that Mommy can console you. I would do ANYTHING to protect you, Monkey.... my little Side Kick! I would be lost without you. It is crazy to feel this way after only 2 months. Happy Birthday Baby.... here's to many, many more!
Love,
Mommy

Double Date Day

I told you so.... we have our weekly Date Day. And this week we made it a double date with Tami, Josue & Baby Sofia (she is hidden behind her daddy in the pic). What a fun afternoon we had. I love that Cade and Sofia are so close in age (Cade is 5 mo younger than Sofia) and will grow up together! Thanks for meeting us. Let's do it again soon!

Jacobsen Family Get-Together

We went over to Brad's grandmother's beach house the other day... here is the house...And here is the backyard! It really doesn't get any better than this! Cade doesn't know how lucky he is to get to grow up playing in the sand and water during family gatherings! Here is Brad's brother Brent and his son Will on their sailboat, Summer Wind... Brad's aunt Mickey and his grandmother...

The Little Man slept through it all!

Brad and his nephew Will...

Brad's cousin Tami with her little baby girl Sofia & his niece Skylar.

First Night Away

Brad and I had an offer from my parents to watch Cade overnight. While we knew we would miss our little boy, we were very excited to have a full night's sleep! We decided to go camping for a night. Long story short, the campsite was a bust so we went home, got on bikes and rode down to the pier for some lunch and margaritas. We took full advantage of having the night off and went to bed by 8pm to get some much needed Zzz's. Thanks Mom & Dad! You're the best!

Here is the sign in their front yard - too cute!
Here is Mimi in all her glory. She was very happy to get her hands on Caders for 24 whole hours!
Daddy kissing his Little Man goodbye.Mimi on babysitting duty. Such a multi-tasker!

Poppy and Cade watching football...

Cade was so tired after all the action!

More football....

When we came to pick Cade up, my dad showed me this binder for his job. How cute is this? He put Cade's picture on it because it "makes him smile". He has Brennan's (his other grandson) picture by his favorite chair in the living room so he can look at it often. He is too cute! He loves his grandsons!

Thanks for watching Cade, Mom & Dad! I know Cade is in good hands with you two:) Thanks for spoiling him and loving him so much. He loves you too! xoxo
