The Diva's Week 3 Update

So 'Little Miss Thang' had her 3 week check up at the doc today. I was so happy to hear how much she now weighs! Let me be the 1st to announce that Berkley Laine now weighs in at a whopping 7 lbs, 14 oz (24th percentile)! And she is 20.5 inches long (44th percentile). Berks is now as long as Cade was at birth! I am so glad she is putting on some weight!

And let me just say that she was quite the hit with the nurses! They loved her frilly outfit:)

Neighborhood Pumpkin Carving party

Our neighbors had a Halloween party at their place Thursday night. It was B.Y.O.P. - Bring Your Own Pumpkin - so we could carve them. Being that we now have 2 kiddos, I didn't see that happening. So we brought our 2 human pumpkins instead and just enjoyed the conversation while running around chasing Cade:) Berkley was dressed for the occasion in this adorable outfit from her cousin, Brennan!

And here are a few shots from the get together:

Cade was decked out in his skeleton pjs since it was past his bed time:)

And there ya have it! We had so much fun chit chatting with all the neighbors. We decided that we must have a Christmas party too!

Happy 3 Weeks, Baby Berkley!

I can hardly believe our baby girl is 3 weeks old today! Where has the time gone?! Time sure goes much quicker for baby #2. Here is our peanut at week 3:

And at week 2:
And finally at week 1:
She is growing so fast! Wish I could push 'pause' and keep her this little for just a bit longer.
Thought I'd leave ya with a cute pic of Penny:) Happy Thursday!

Off To Nordies...

As you can see, I am having way too much fun playing dress up with my little girl. She looks like she is leaving on a shopping spree at the mall. She is decked out in her pearls and purse...oh, and how 'bout those leg warmers? :)

1st Date - Who's Riding Shot Gun?

Cade & I hung out with my friend Kristen and her daughter Sofie today. Kristen wanted to try out Cade's car to see if Sofie was big enough for it. Cade had a fit because he thought Sofie was taking his car. He then proceeded to take a seat in his car... even though Sofie was already sitting in it! Here was the end result :) Looks like he is driving Sofie to their 1st date:)

3 to the car in 1 trip

My mom has taken the past 2 weeks off of work to stay with us. Because of my c section, I was not able to lift over 15 lbs (ie Cade) for several weeks. So my mom helped me take care of the kiddos these past 2 weeks. Now that I am on my own next week, I thought it was time to figure out how I will get both kids down the stairs and out of the house when we go to the park, mall, story time, etc. My mom used to think I was crazy since I took Cade on an adventure every day. I tried to explain that he (and I) gets bored and needs to get out and about each day. Well, now that she has stayed with us, she "gets it" and completely agrees. Problem is, there are now TWO bambinos that I need to pack up and carry to the car. Cade is too young to walk down the stairs by himself. So.... here is the solution to getting all 3 of us out of the house in 1 trip:

Yep, although you can barely see her, Berkley is in the beco carrier.

And because you didn't get a glimpse of the pretty girl, here are a few shots of her from this week:

Berkley's Dedication

Berkley was dedicated at church yesterday. My cousin Steph's son, Nash, was also dedicated. Cade was dedicated last year. You can see Cade's dedication HERE. My parents joined us to support Berkley on her big day. Thanks for coming mom & dad!
Here we are waiting for our turn:
This next pic is blurry, but this captures Scott, the senior associate pastor announcing Berks.

Here is Steph, Scott & Nash:

All of the families that were dedicating their little ones:

The church gave us these roses (one for each parent and one for the baby)....
And this pink little Bible for Berkley:)
Then we came back to the house and snapped a few pix of my parents with the kiddos...

And one more shot of the little princess. We love you baby girl! I am so proud to be your mommy. Congratulations on your dedication. I promise to teach you about Jesus, pray for you, and help guide you to become a woman of God.

Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch 2011

Last year we started a Jacobsen family tradition when we took this little guy to Tanaka Farms for their spectacular pumpkin patch. After seeing the mazes, tractor rides, mini ATVs, etc, we vowed to come back every year.

Who would've known that the very next year we would have this little girl in our party!? She is all dressed and ready to go see her 1st pumpkins.
Or "balls" as Cade called them:) Have I mentioned yet that he is obsessed with balls? :)
Once we arrived, Berkley was so excited that her anticipation put her right to sleep! Ha!
And Cade was a bit apprehensive. He is thinking, "ah mom... not this place again! I am way too cool for picking pumpkins."
The Mr. & I....
Ok, no more parking lot pictures... time to go into the patch!
This place was packed! Good thing it is so huge - there were enough pumpkins for everyone.
Family shot! Can you find Berks in the pic? Don't blink or you might miss her.
That's better:) Both kiddos are looking away, but what can you expect? At least you can see Berkley this time.
My lil' pumpkin.
Ok, so they're not looking again, but you must admit this was a pretty darn good attempt on my part:)
A tad better...

Dad of the Year with both kiddos. And yep, you are seeing this right. Cade is trying to eat Berkley's foot. Boys will be boys, I guess:)
Did you notice that Berks' tights match Cade's sleeves? How random is that? Different stores. I didn't even notice until I got them dressed today. Let's pretend I coordinated that on purpose:)
I am not quite to Mom of the Year status, so thus far I stick to holding only 1 kiddo at a time. Brad asked if I wanted a pic with me and both kids, but I opted out for fear of dropping one... or both. Poor Berks had to shield her eyes as we were looking right into the sun.
This shot turned out pretty cute, eh? This one just might make it into a frame:)
And I just love these shots of the boys doing their thing :)

I will leave you with a pic of our family of pumpkins...
Happy Fall!
