Playdate with Lizzie, Take 2!

Last week's playdate was fun for Gina and I, however, the Little Ones never woke up to meet one another. We tried again this week.... success! Cade & Lizzie were both awake. That had fun cooing with each other:) However, maybe we were a bit ambitious when we decided to stroll all the way over to HoSum Bistro... the way home with 2 crying babies was a challenge... and we still had a mile to go! Regardless, it was a fun day! Gotta love these Little Angels!

'Date DAY' Is The New 'Date NIGHT'

Pre-Cade, Brad and I always had our standing Friday night Date Night. Every Friday we would go to Chronic Cantina and sit on the patio while enjoying our dinner. Now that we have our Little Man, we have changed it up a bit. Date NIGHTS have turned into Date DAYS! And instead of just the 2 of us, it is now the 3 of us:) We also had to change the place since our beloved Chronic has closed. After many test runs at various restaurants trying to find the best fajitas as well as a great ambiance, we have chosen our new hot spot. It is nothing fancy... just our nearby Acapulco. But it is perfect for us!

This is the patio... it reminds us of Cabo. LOVE it! Kinda funny that we were the only ones outside for a few minutes... by the time we left it was pretty crowded. Being outside is great in case Cade starts to get fussy.

Slumber Party with Nat

Cade was lucky enough to have my cousin Nat over to spend the night. She was such a great helper! She pushed Cade on our walk so I could handle the dogs...

And even fed Cade for me!

Hitting the Pavement

Cade is sure racking up the miles! Between me and Daddy taking him on runs, he should be in great shape!:) I take him almost every morning, and Brad takes him a few nights per week when he isn't golfing. Here they go....

Play Date With Lizzie

My friend Gina and I were in the same baby classes at Kaiser. We went to HS together and got reconnected in these classes when I went up to her asking her where I knew her from b/c she looked so familiar. Small world, huh? Turns out we live within 5 miles of each other! Today we got together for a stroller stride & lunch with the little ones down in Huntington Beach. Her little girl, Lizzie, is 10 weeks old (3.5 wks older than Cade).

That's right! Neither one of them woke up the entire time. So they never got to meet. We will definitely have to plan another date very soon so that the kiddos can meet one another!

Sleep Update

Cade is now 6.5 weeks old! I posted a while back to report that he now understands the difference between day and night! For now he is pretty consistent with his nightly waking times. He goes down at about 9ish each night. He then wakes at 1:30am and 4:30am for feedings/diaper changes. He will usually wake up for good between 6:30am and 7:00am. We are crossing our fingers that he will soon have longer stretches through the night. At least he is so cute so that it 'softens the blow' when I have to get up:) I love you Monkey! xoxo

Just the 5 of Us

We decided to venture out with the entire gang. Just a walk around the neighborhood, but it counts! :)

Cade's Best Buddy

My friend Jana & I were both pregnant at the same time. We got to enjoy our pregnancies together. She had Taj 7 weeks before Cade was born. We are both on maternity leave so we get to have playdates together. Our 1st was yesterday. We went on a stroller walk, grabbed lunch, and then headed back to the house to chit chat while the boys napped. We were so busy that we forgot to get a picture of us... welcome to Motherhood!

On The Road Again

It's official! I am back to hitting the pavement. It was my 1st day home with Cade so I decided to go on a 5 mile run this morning. I was a bit nervous that we would get halfway there and he would start crying... but nope! He liked it. The movement soothes him.

We started on this running path to get to..... The beach! Easy on the eyes, eh? It is so easy to run when this is the view.

Surprisingly, Cade only slept for about 10 minutes of the run. I thought he would sleep the whole time. Instead, he just kicked back and we chit chatted along the way. I think passer-bys thought I was talking to myself:)

Good job running partner! You did a good job motivating me:) I think I will keep you around as my trainer:) I can't wait to hit the road again with you! Muah.

Mr. Smiles

Cade has been smiling so much more lately. I become puddy in his hands when he does this. Call me crazy but I think the Mr. Man might be a morning person like his Mommy. He is so happy and smiley in the mornings. I love our mornings together and going in to get him from his crib when he wakes up. He gets this huge grin on his face. Does it get any better than this!?

Cade's 1st Day of School

Today was our 1st day of school at work. While I did not have to go since I am on maternity leave, I decided to go and bring Cade so that I could meet the students and introduce myself (and the Little Man). That way when I return to work they will have already met me.

This is the beginning of 1st period as the students are coming into class. Cade did great and took it all in:) After school was over I had to attend CPR training with the staff to keep myself current. My grandma, Mimi (Cade's Great Grandma, Mimso) offered to watch Cade. She lives less than a mile from work so it was perfect for me to run him over.

I was loving on him before leaving to go back to school, and this is what happened...

This is the smile I got before smooching him as I walked out the door. It is so hard to be away from him. It feels so strange without my little sidekick right beside me. Luckily, it was only for a few hours.
Thanks so much, Mimi! I love that Cade gets to spend time with his 'Mimiso'. It is much easier to leave him knowing he is with family. We are so grateful for your help:) Cade loves you!

Lunching With Mimi & Poppy

Dear Mimi & Poppy,

Thank you so much for taking Mommy and me to lunch the other day. We had so much fun with you guys. I loved hanging out on your soft leather couch while Mimi kept making me laugh. I am so glad we live close so that I can see you guys often. I love being spoiled by you both. Can't wait for our next visit!

Celebrating Our Last Day of Summer

We enjoyed our last day of summer yesterday. It was off to Brad's Grandma's beach house in Balboa for some fun & sun with family.

Being from Texas, this is a special treat for me! Cade will get to be just like his Daddy and grow up on the sand and in the water.

I can't wait for Cade to build his 1st sandcastle in the sand behind us! Cade & Grammer (Brad's mom)...

Here he is... it's Leroy! We 'won' him at the OC Fair! Ok, so we didn't win the game, but they felt sorry for us and gave Leroy to us anyway.... now, how do we keep him alive? Cade said he would be in charge of Leroy, but so far we are in charge! :)
