Dancing Machine

We were at Downtown Disney and Cade wanted to stop and bust a move to the music:)

Look who's close to crawling! I'm not sure I am ready for this. Crawling = more work for mommy & daddy:) Berkie has been getting up on "all fours" and rocking back and forth. She is very close to crawling. Yikes! I don't think Cade did this so early. Ready or not, here goes Berks!

Family Day At Disneyland

Last weekend we went to Disneyland. It had been quite a while since we had been there.

Brad & Berkley were pooped afterwards:)

20 Miler...

20 mile run.... done!    Thanks to my aunt Bee (aka Beth) for running part of it with me.  It is so hard to motivate to run 20 miles all by yourself - b.o.r.i.n.g!  I took yesterday off from work and headed to Anaheim Hills to meet Bee at 6:15am for this crazy long run on the river trail.  Surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I anticipated.  I felt pretty good throughout.  Bee and I chatted for the first 10 miles, and then she left to go do more important things:).  I ran the next 5 without music.... just listening to nature and talking to God.  Then to change it up, I turned on my music for the final 5.
We are now 16 days away from the OC marathon!  I am getting excited.
We are now in tapering mode.  Tomorrow I back off and do 12 and then the following weekend I will only do 8 and start saving energy as I cut back.

In other running news, the Ragnar Relay started today.  This is a relay consisting of a 12 person team.  Each person runs a stretch before handing the baton to the next person.  They start in Huntington Beach and run through the night for 1.5 days ending in San Diego.  I WISH I was doing this right now.  Sounds like a blast!  Count me in next year!

Skateboarding/Razor-ing

Cade is very interested in skateboards and razors. Whenever he sees kids riding these he points and tells us that "I want it". Being that Cade is not even 2, he is too little for these 'dangerous' toys and we have not bought him one. Refusing to take "no" for an answer, Cade has made his own skateboard/razor! Take a look.... pretty darn creative if you ask me!

Denim Mini

Berkley wore her 1st denim mini skirt today. It was too darn cute to pass up taking a few pics...

Family Pictures & Berkley's 6 Month Photos

Taking Advantage of a Gorgeous Day

Yesterday was a beautiful day so we decided to get outdoors. We took the duffy out for a spin. We grabbed lunch from Great Mex (one of our favorites) on our way and took it on the boat with us. We had a great time.

Dying Easter Eggs

Cade was very excited to dye eggs! It was our 1st time doing this since he was so little last year. We had a fun time and Cade LOVED dropping each egg into it's cup of dye!

The problem was that once we were done putting the eggs in, he did NOT like the waiting game while the eggs soaked up the color. He wanted the eggs NOW! Poor guy. He threw a major tantrum until daddy distracted him. Hopefully next year will be a bit better.... oh wait.... Berkley will be throwing the tantrum next year. Here's to hoping!

6 Months Already!

I can hardly believe we are halfway through Berkie's 1st year. I cannot seem to wrap my mind around that. It kinda makes me a bit sad that we will never have another baby in the house. We are so proud of her and just love her to pieces. Do I dare say that she is just as smiley as Cade?? She has been belly chuckling lately and it is the cutest thing ever! It melts me. Here she is:6 month stats:
weight: 14 lbs 15.3 oz (28th percentile)
length: 25 3/4 in (50th percentile)

Bunny Carousel

While we were at SCP yesterday, we let Cade ride on the "Buddy" (bunny) of his choice. Like his cousin Brennan, he chose orange:) Maybe because it matched his shirt?? Hee hee.

These 2 watched from the sidelines:)

Easter

We went to church bright and early and then came home to give the kids their naps. Upon awaking, they got these:

We then went to my grandma's house where Tori set up this Easter egg hunt for the kids. She did such a great job! She even helped Cade find some eggs!

Next we went to Brad's aunt's beach house, but I failed to get any pix - darn! We must've been having too much fun:) We were gone all day. We came home right at dinner time.
Before going to bed, Cade wanted to color Berkley's mask that she got in her Easter basket. This was the 'before':
And this was the 'after':
Oh! This is also another 'after' picture:
Whoops! Did you notice (a few pictures up) how Cade holds the marker? Brad (and I) is VERY proud of this. He did it all on his own - we never showed him the correct way to hold the pen.
This pic makes me smile. I just love seeing these 2 interact!
We hope everyone had a great Easter! He is Risen!!

Potty Training Update

The past 2 nights Cade has told me, "pee pee on the potty Mommy". So both times, I scooped him up and sat him on the toilet. And both times he went poo and pee! So crazy that this kid is basically potty training himself! I never would've thought we would be doing this so early - at 21 months. He is more ready than I am I guess because I haven't even read up on the subject yet.

Palm Springs With The Torres'

We had such a great trip in January when we went to San Diego with the Torres' that we decided to do it again. Only this time we went to Palm Springs to lay by the pool! Once again we had an absolute blast. The trip could not have gone any better. We hope to have many more trips like these!
Upon arriving Thursday, we dumped our bags in our rooms (which were next door making it super easy and fun) and headed straight for the pool...

We didn't waste any time before jumping in the water...

This is the gang - except for Josue who was taking the picture. We had many people coming up to us to tell us how "cute" the kids were and how much they "loved our baby rafts".

Berks was a bathing beauty and fell asleep immediately after getting into her raft:) Hey - it's tough work being this cute!
Berkley's 1st bikini (or tankini actually):

We came up to the rooms to shower and settle in for the night. Cade & Sofia absolutely A.D.O.R.E. each other and it is just so darn cut. When they see each other for the 1st time each day, they run from across the room towards one another and throw their arms around each other's neck for a big hug. Reminds me of those movies when they play that scene in slow motion:) These 2 were completely entertained with one another and made it so easy for us adults to relax a bit. Both nights, we hung out in our room, chatted, ordered a pizza, and had a few drinks.
Here are the "besties" on night #1:

All this fun was tiring!
Day 2 - Berkie was up and anxious to go back to the pool:)

And so were Pete and Repeat:)

Once again, the Prima Donna had a little snooze by the pool....
And then again in her pack n' play. It was so nice having this out by the pool. I covered it with a towel once the sun was over us (we were in the shade still in this pic) so she stayed out of the sun.
These 2 were on such good behavior that they got a "teet" (treat)....
Whoops!
Mommy got one too... until Cade took it:)

Night #2 - These 2 were pretending they were babies and they wanted to play under Berkley's gym mat.
This is how Cade looks 90% of the time. He is obsessed with his binkey and his "nite nite" (blanket) and HAS TO HAVE THEM! He has always loved his binkey but this blanket obsession is quite new. It is definitely his sense of security. Some say not to give it to him unless he's in his crib, but I just can't do it. It breaks my heart to see him want it SO BAD..... what's the big deal? It's not like he's going to get married still holding it.
And that's all! Brad's quote to sum up the trip: "Any trip where we never used a stroller or carseat... now that's a good, relaxing trip." We literally parked the car, and never left the resort the entire trip. Thanks Tami, Josue and Sofia! We had a blast with you guys!
