Cade's 1st Vacation

Cade went on his 1st vacation this weekend. We decided to go Palm Springs since my parents have a time share there. Oddly enough, when I called to make the reservation, I learned that my parents were scheduled to go this weekend as well. So our party of 3, turned into a party of 5. We had a blast! The only downside was trying to pack! It took me over 2 hrs to get everything packed and ready to go. The car was packed to the max! You would've thought we were going away for a month. Too bad it was only for 2 nights... ha ha. I have learned that in order to make it worth the trip, we need to stay at least 3 nights next time. You live and you learn, right!? :)

First thing we did upon arrival was set up Cade's bed...aka his Pack n' Play. He looks comfy enough to me, don't you agree? Just a pic of the room to show you the mess... I mean... clutter with all of our stuff:)
As soon as we got settled, we headed to the pool. Cade got to try out his new swim trunks and go for his 1st dip. Thanks Audra for letting us borrow your water proof bjorn:)

Drying off .... such a ladies' man:) Look at those abs!
Too legit to quit:) Future heart breaker or what?!

Chillin' like a villain!

Like father, like son. Love these 2 in their similar hats:)

And their coordinating Quiksilver trunks:)

Enjoying some R & R together...

Time for another dip in the pool. Cade wasn't so sure if he liked it or not. He was trying to figure out what was going on:)

So much action for one day... somebody needed a nap!

Not for long though! Ready to play for round 2!
Getting some love from Mimi & Poppy...

Family portrait!

One more...

This was taken on our way out to dinner downtown. We all got dressed and then noticed we were dressed in the same colors. Great for a pic! We didn't even plan it, I promise! :)

Party of 3...
Party of 5...

We had such a great vacation. Once the packing was done, it was smooth sailing. When do we get to go back?? :)

Today's Quote

"Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body." - Elizabeth Stone

Isn't this so true? I never fully understood this quote until I had Cade. He is Brad & my whole world. I literally feel like my heart is outside of my body and I cannot protect it. It is so vulnerable and can be broken so easily... this scares me to death. But it is the greatest thing I have ever experienced in my entire life. Thank you Jesus for giving Brad & I the gift of parenthood.

Christmas Time at Disneyland

I just LOVE Disneyland when it is all decorated for Christmas. It gets me in the holiday spirit! You know, when you feel all warm & fuzzy inside. I am not a coffee drinker, but I come very close to ordering a peppermint latte just to feel the part:) Now that Dland is all decorated and ready for Christmas, Cade & I picked up Gina & Lizzie for a fun day in the park. We met Audra & Marley there too. We had a blast!
The challenging part was trying to fit 2 car seats, 2 strollers, & 2 huge diaper bags into my car. We managed... and don't these 2 look so happy squeezed in like sardines!?Told you I love Christmastime.... gotta get a pic in front of the famous tree! The whole gang! We were at the playground in Toon Town so Marley could run around while the moms chatted...And a sweet pic of me & my gift from God.

First Food Coma

After Cade's 4 month check-up, the Doc have us the 'green light' to start solid foods...aka rice cereal. We tried it for 2 nights in a row before realizing that Cade is like his mommy. While he looks just like his daddy, he takes after me in the 'non-night owl' department. Cade is an early riser like me and he crashes early as well. Both nights Cade was falling asleep while I was trying to feed him. He just wanted his bottle and FAST so he could go to bed! I finally wised up on day 3 and tried to give the cereal to him earlier in the day. Success! And then I tried again at 5pm on the same day (earlier than the previous nights). He seemed to like it! And the best part is.... yep, you guessed it.... he slept for 7 hrs straight! From 7pm - 2am! Woo hoo! I think we are on to something, Folks!I think I got more on his face than in his mouth, but that's ok! We had fun regardless:)I had the bottle ready to go just in case my Little Man wanted that instead. Yes, he DOES wear the pants around here:)

Typical Man... :)

Happy 4 Month Birthday, Kenny Boy!

Those who know me know that I am the nickname queen. I seem to always come up with nicknames without even meaning to. Cade's middle name is Kendall, after Brad's father. Because 'Cade' is so short, I started calling him 'Cade Kendall' a while back. Well, now it has turned into 'Cade Kenny' or just plain 'Kenny'. Brad says our poor boy is not going to know what his name is:)
Regardless, he is loved like crazy! I am still amazed by how much love we can give him. I never knew I could love so unconditional. Like I have said before, it is scary being so vulnerable. I can not imagine life without my little sidekick. I thank God for every day we get to experience with our baby and pray that he grows to be a man of God and lives a very long, long life!

Today is another milestone.... Cade turned 4 months old today!!

His 4 mo. stats:
Length: 26 inches (86th percentile)
Weight: 13 lbs 15 oz (32nd percentile)
He is still long and lean. I anticipate he will slow down with his height since both Brad and I are not the tallest crayons in the box:)And in true birthday form... here are Cade's 4 month sweet treats! Red velvet this month...yum!

Storytime at South Coast Plaza

Cade & I met Audra & Marley at SCP for story time this morning. It is at Pottery Barn Kids every Tuesday at 11am and boy was it a sight! There were so many kids and it was funny to watch them try to sit still and pay attention. I complemented the 'reader' at the end for her patience:)

This was about 5 minutes before it started. Cade is on my lap and Marley is the adorable little girl crawling on the rug in the pink tutu. She is gorgeous! I will get a good picture soon so you can see her. Darn! Marley's head is turned...

Wow! It got crowded fast! There were strollers everywhere throughout the store!

We had a great time. Cade even got his own "Book Club" book!I just found this picture of Marley from last week . Audra & I took the kiddos to Disneyland's California Adventure. It was soooo hot so we only stayed a few hours. Here you can finally see sweert Marley's face:) I just love this little girl:)

Snuggle Bunnies

Such a lover, our little boy...
Just a sneak peak at what you don't get to see at night:)

Happy Halloweenie!

What do you think of Cade's pumpkin headpiece? These snazzy pumpkins even light up and sing a song! What a great way to start off Halloween morning at the swap meet.
Our family of 3 was invited to The Grover's 1st Annual Baby Halloween Party. What a fun time we had! As we walked up to the door, this is what we were greeted with... As this is what filled our tummies...

Here are the hosts. Aren't they so darn cute in their Wizard of Oz costumes!?

Mommies with their boys.... I guess it was the year of the boy:)

A pic of the co-workers and our 'boyfriends' :)

The twins... Cade & Taji. The costumes came off quickly b/c it was so hot!

The Jacobsen trio:)

The STAR of our family:) No matter how big Cade gets, he will always be my little pea:)

Every party has a pooper, and this time it was our little boy:)

Still sleeping....

After the party we headed down to Main Street in Huntington Beach for their Halloween party. It was a blast. Right off the bat, we ran into the Strobel family. Here is Gina and Cade's girlfriend, Lizzie. Such an adorable flower!!

Random people. I just love all of the costumes!

Sleeping once again. He was missing out on all the action!

Pony rides! I can't wait for Cade to enjoy all of these things one day.

Even the dogs were dressed up! Too bad we left Chewy & Penny at home.

We had such a great 1st Halloween! Here's to many, many more!

Boo

Isn't this little boy Boo-tiful!? :)
