This Week's Happenings

Cade & I spent the night with my parents Monday night. We try to do this every other week or so. We get dinner and watch Dancing With The Stars. I love it. Cade & Mimi were pooped and needed a cat nap...
Cade is loved:) His 1st Halloween cards...

Last night's story time before bed... we are reading Bible stories:)

Chewy & Penny wanted to join in for story time too!

This is Cade's favorite sleep position. He favors his left side. My favorite part of the day is when he wakes up. He makes little noises so I know he is awake. I walk in always to be greeted by his huge gummy grin:) LOVE IT!

Cade's Dedication

Today was a GREAT day! Brad & I had Cade dedicated at our church, First Christian Church in Huntington Beach, CA. We were so grateful for ALL of the family to support us. We had grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins there to witness Cade's dedication.

Here we are on the stage. We were the first in line to be announced.... in true 'Brad fashion', he had to walk out with Cade held high in order to show him off. Everyone laughed as I told Brad to 'tone it down'. It was pretty funny though as Brad got the crowd laughing. Everyone LOVED Cade's newsboy hat!

Afterwards, we took pix outside... here is our clan:) Thanks to everyone for driving out to join us and for supporting Cade Kendall!Whoops! These 2 girls missed the family pic... here are my cousins, Steph & Nat.And here is our family pic... the Jacobsen trio...Afterwards we all went to lunch at Bucca di Beppo. Say Cheese!Grammer with Cade! Cade is pooped after his big stage appearance! The gang...These are the flowers we got from the church. A white rose for the Mom and her compassion, a red rose for the dad and his leadership, and a wide rosebud for the baby who has yet to bloom. The church also gave us Cade's very 1st Bible. I just LOVE it!Mimi & Poppy gave Cade this little prayer lamb. When you squeeze his belly he says a goodnight prayer. Can this be any cuter!? This is now Cade's nightly ritual:)The card that came with the lamb...Aunt Nancy, Tori, Matt, & Robbie have Cade this super cute outfit... The back says: "Shine like stars in the universe..." Philippians 2:15

Along with shoes that say "Child of God".... adorable! And an adorable blankie that says: "You teach me wisdom O Lord" Psalm 51:6. Thanks so much, Nanc!

Here are the cards that Cade received...Mommy's note to her Kenny.... We LOVE you Cade Kendall! My heart literally lives outside my body. You have stolen my heart and run away with it. I love you more than life itself. I never knew a love like this. How much more does Jesus love us!? I cannot wait to watch you grow and become a man of God.
xoxo,
Mommy

Our Family of Pumpkins

Cade was admiring our family as if we were pumpkins.... don't you see us? The biggest one is Brad, followed by myself. The middle guy is Cade and the 2 itty-bitty ones are Chewy & Penny of course. I don't know about you, but even as pumpkins, Cade is the cutest!

Kickin' Back With Daddy

I walked in the room to find my boys (yes, Chewy is one of my boys too!) relaxing while watching some football. The way Cade was sitting was too cute not to capture. Looks like a little old man in his 'recliner' with his button-down shirt.
Love this Daddy-Son moment:) Or 'male-bonding' as Brad says.

Cade's 1st Trip To The Pumpkin Patch

What a fun day! Brad & I took Cade to his 1st ever PUMPKIN PATCH!! Can you tell how excited he is!? :)
But first I had to deck him out in his Halloween outfit.

Gotta love the hat!

And these adorable socks!

Oddly enough, we could not find a pumpkin patch by our house. Didn't these things used to be on every street corner when we were kids?? Brad's mom told us about one at Strawberry Farms in Irvine. We were assuming it was just a little standard patch. Boy were we wrong! This was like nothing I had ever seen before! There was a line to park b/c the lot was so packed. We had to park pretty far away and walk. This place was a mini Disneyland. Tractor rides, corn field mazes, petting zoo, etc. We have just made our 1st family tradition. I can't wait until Cade is old enough to enjoy all of the activities! (Regretfully, I didn't get pictures of these fun activities since Cade was too young. Wish I would've taken pix though just to show you how neat this place was.)

Here we are walking in to the patch. Many of the pumpkins are still attached to the vine. They even have wheelbarrels to borrow to carry your pumpkins...

Stopping for a quick pose...

The Jacobsen team:)

Isn't it crazy how huge this place is!? I never knew anything like this existed. Brad & I felt like little kids again. We had a blast!

My handsome boys:)

This is my favorite picture! This memory will last a lifetime. Thanks for the tip Marge!

18 Miler

Well, we did it again. Sally and I pushed our bodies even farther than the week before. We had to run 18 miles yesterday for the marathon training. The craziest part is that Sally is not even running the marathon... yet she still does all the training with me! I love her for that! And for other reasons of course:) Because we had to go so far (and it took over 3 hrs!) we decided to start earlier this time... at 6:30am. This is why it is overcast and misty in the pictures.

I decided to take this guy for the first 10 miles. Then we dropped him off at home with Brad. He loves the motion... puts him right to sleep. We stopped at a few of these for some 'liquid heaven' during a long run.

Posing with my lil' boyfriend:)

Great view, eh?

Sally & I...

Wish us luck! Next weekend is Sally and my LA Half Marathon. Should be easy since it is only 13.1 miles. That's cake compared to the 18 we just accomplished! The hard part will be getting out of the house by 4:30am! Pix will be posted soon!

Movin' Up In The World

Now that Cade is getting older, we get to bring out new, fun toys. I just love watching him get so excited as he explores this new 'world'. He played in his new bouncy chair for the 1st time yesterday. He absolutely LOVES it!

Gotta love all the toys in the background. Looks like a daycare facility. Brad asked if we can put one toy away for every new one we bring out... sadly, the answer was 'no'. The Cademan still likes all of his fun toys. Plus, putting away toys means Cade is growing out of them... and I just can't accept that yet:)

Mimi Spends the Night!

We lucked out and Mimi came to spend the night last weekend. Cade was so excited! He has a special bond with his Mimi... she can make him laugh and giggle like no one else!

Sugar Shack 'n Sharks

Cade and I had a playdate with Gina & Lizzie yesterday. We had a very fun and exciting day! We took a walk over to Main St. in Huntington Beach to hit up The Sugar Shack for some breakfast.... then we strolled down to the end of the pier. You'll never guess what we saw.... but before I show you, here are some pix of us playing with our Little Loves:)

Love this pic! Can we please freeze time to enjoy these moments over and over again?
Cade is thinking, "Check me out Mom... I already snatched a hot babe and I'm only 3 months old!"Me: Okay wait... hand holding!? Really? He is moving way too fast for me. I thought I was the only girl in his life?
So we had to separate them a bit:)
Cade evidently thought this was funny:)Ok, back to what we saw on our walk.... when we reached the end of the pier Gina pointed this out to me. I nearly jumped 10 feet! How crazy is this!?And 10 seconds after we saw the thrasher shark, another guy was trying to reel in this guy. As you can tell, he succeeded.

I was thinking that if Cade were older he would have loved to see this. I can imagine him coming home to tell Daddy how cool it was!
Thanks for having us over Gina & Lizzie! We are so happy to have friends like you to go on walks with, eat bacon & eggs with, have Mommy talk with & enjoy our Little Ones with!
