My Giggle Machine

I have promised a video of The Cade Man giggling and here it is! The lighting is terrible and the timing was bad. By the time I grabbed the camera he was almost done giggling.... but at least I can show you a glimpse into how cute this is. How can this little boy's laugh be the ultimate highlight of my life!? :) He has my heart wrapped around his little finger, for sure!

'Chicks Dig Me'...

...in my new highchair! Look what Mimi & Poppy bought me for Christmas!! We gave it a whirl today and it worked like a charm:) Thank you Mimi & Poppy! I love you guys so much!

Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My!

Yesterday we once again packed up the car, Cade, and the dogs and headed out to San Diego. Well, we dropped the dogs off at 'daycare' first. I must say that I am getting pretty good at packing all of us up with all of this practice. I have to laugh because it used to take me forever to pack for myself. Now I use that time to focus on packing for Cade and I allot about 15 minutes max for myself. I just throw a few things in a bag and figure I can make it work if I forgot anything. Spoken like a true mom, eh?

We arrived in Downtown San Diego around 3:30pm. We checked into the hotel, got situated in our room and turned on the tube for a bit. We then got ready and headed out to hit the town... well, if that's what you call it with a 4 month old in tow:) We basically walked over to check out the new Hard Rock Hotel, walked around for about 30 minutes, and then found a place for dinner. We totally painted the town red. The town never looked the same once we were done with it.. hee hee! Actually we were home by 7pm. Here are my boys relaxing before bed... Cade showing off his shirt... it says, ' When I Grow Up I Want To Surf Like My Daddy'.

Cade had a little accident down south so we needed to give him a bath. Unfortunately, his bathtub was not on the packing list so had to make due in the sink. Not bad, huh?

My favorite part of bath time...drying off my Angel Boy and making him snug as a bug in a rug !

This morning the human alarm clock woke me up at 5:45am so I decided to head downstairs to the complimentary breakfast. When I came back, here is what I found. Why oh why can I NEVER fall back asleep like these 2 can ?

At least I had about 30 minutes to myself to get ready and pack up before they woke up. I had to get us all ready for our big day.... at....The.....

It was really cold so we all had about 3 layers on. First stop, the flamingos!

Quick break for a family photo!

Cade posing as a monkey:)

Look what Brad found!?

Crazy how big these guys are!

This was my absolute favorite animal today! This cutie looked like a little teddy bear. His name is Gao Gao. He is 20 yrs old and weighs 180 lbs. Fun fact: pandas are fertile only 2 days per year and this guy has never missed an opportunity to become a daddy.

Love how you see him using his hand here...

Funny story... we saw this guy out walking around and I was freaking out thinking he had escaped. I found the closest zoo keeper to inform him of this 'problem'. Turns out they are always allowed to walk amongst the crowd. Darn! I thought I was going to be a hero!

Once I knew they were not dangerous, we got close enough to snap a pic:)

Oh! This was so neat... my 2nd favorite part... the gorillas! When we walked up, this guy was lounging RIGHT UP AGAINST the glass! Check out his foot! It is crazy how much it looks like a hand.

This was his buddy... Just chillin'...

Too bad Cade was pooped and taking a nap of his own! Do you see the gorilla snoozing right against the glass?

Ha! Same gorilla... not modest at all. Spread eagle (those are his legs wide open). This guy is not worried about the airport body scan in the least! Hee hee
Rhino....
A camel... just checkin' out what's going on on the other side of that wall! Such a nosey little
(I mean 'big') guy! Turns out we learned something new today. The humps store fat -not water.
This was crazy! The guy in the black was giving us a tutorial on this elephant. He has been with the elephant for 18 years so they have a strong bond/trust. It was so neat to watch them interact with each other. He weighs 13,5000 lbs and eats 115,000 calories per meal! They only sleep 3 hrs a day so that they can get their food. Not bad, huh? Wish I could eat 115,000 calories per meal!
What a great day we had! We loved reading all of the fun/interesting facts about all of the animals. We are loving that Brad is home with us this week so that we can do fun activities such as this. We are definitely thankful for this as we celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends & family.

No Time To Blog...

I have been MIA lately. We have been on tour... at least it feels that way... because we are in a different city every day. Ha ha! I know some people (I won't name names, Mom & Mimso!) think we are on the go too much for the Little Man but it works for us. Cade is a well adjusted Monkey and he does so well on the road. He is a quick recap of last week....

We have been getting ready for Turkey Day. And last weekend was a blast! Cade & I got together with some of my friends from college (Azusa Pacific University). From L to R: Drea, Jaci, & Lori. I have not seen Drea & Lori for probably close to 10 years. Thanks to FB we have been able to get in touch. We all brought the kids... unfortunately I did not get a picture of them. We have 6 between us. It was so much fun to chat over lunch while the kiddos played in the playground. Cade got to hang with the girls though... he begged to go play but I just didn't think he could go down the slide just yet:) Our 'lunch' lasted so long that it was dinner time by the time we left! It was so much fun reminiscing... each of us remembered different stories that the rest of us had forgotten so we were laughing like crazy. Lori & I used to go out dancing 2x per week so there were a lot of those stories in the mix:) I have missed these girls so much. I love you girls and am so glad we were able to get together with all of our crazy, busy schedules!

A few poses of Cade modeling his new beanie:) That was bought in.... yep you guessed it... another city.

Next, we were off to Disneyland. We lucked out and met this guy! Before posing for the pic, he had to give Cade a smooch:) Cade wasn't having it:)

Looks like Cade wasn't too starstruck by him. Totally unfazed.

Pic of the Month

Cade & I were over at my parents' house and I caught these 2 playing. I just love this picture. Cade loves his Poppy!Isn't this outfit so darn cute!? Poppy picked it out and bought it for him. Great taste, eh? We love you so much Dad. I am so thankful that Cade gets to see you and Mom and spend so much time with you both. I love to sit back and watch your face light up when you see Cade:)

What's So Funny!?

I have caught Cade laughing before but it was not very often, just once in a great while. Well, that was until this past Sunday. Out of nowhere, this boy has just been cracking up. I will act goofy and he will go at it for a good 30 seconds. It is the sweetest sound I have ever heard. I usually make silly noises or faces to make him laugh. The part that amazes me is that how does this little human being even know that these things are funny? Why doesn't he think these are normal, non-funny behaviors? Absolutely amazing to me. I will try to catch it on video soon so you can see for yourself. But I am warning you.... it will MAKE YOUR DAY:)

The kicker was this morning when I was changing his diaper. I was frustrated b/c he must've gone through 4 diapers in the past hour. I was in a hurry to change him as we were on our way out the door. Right in the middle of the diaper change, he peed all over the couch, his shirt, and face! I was extremely frustrated. All of a sudden, my little cutie pa-tooty started giggling! It was as if he was taunting me, saying, "ha ha Mommy! Look what I can do!"

Here's to my laughing machine!

Surfin' USA

Who says Cade is the only one who gets toys? Brad got a 'toy' recently. He hit the waves today to give this bad boy a try. It was a hit! Brad came home very excited to have found a board that he loves after searching for the perfect 'stick' for a while now.
Isn't my surfer hubby a hunk!? How did I get so lucky?!

Twins

Tami, Josue, & Sofia invited us over for a BBQ yesterday. Josue is a BBQ King and makes great carne asada. We always have fun with these 3:)

Cade & Sofia are second cousins (Tami & Brad are cousins). Sofia is 5 months older than Cade. I love getting pictures of these 2 together! We watched Sofia sit up, scoot around, and play. It is crazy to think how much growing up Cade will do in these next 5 months. Kiddos grow up way too fast!

My boys have matching Hurley shirts.... aren't they cute!?

I just love my two boys. The big one is my husband - the little one is my boyfriend:)
Thanks so much for having us over, Tami & Josue. We love you guys! As always, we had a blast! xoxo

Cade's 1st Vacation

Cade went on his 1st vacation this weekend. We decided to go Palm Springs since my parents have a time share there. Oddly enough, when I called to make the reservation, I learned that my parents were scheduled to go this weekend as well. So our party of 3, turned into a party of 5. We had a blast! The only downside was trying to pack! It took me over 2 hrs to get everything packed and ready to go. The car was packed to the max! You would've thought we were going away for a month. Too bad it was only for 2 nights... ha ha. I have learned that in order to make it worth the trip, we need to stay at least 3 nights next time. You live and you learn, right!? :)

First thing we did upon arrival was set up Cade's bed...aka his Pack n' Play. He looks comfy enough to me, don't you agree? Just a pic of the room to show you the mess... I mean... clutter with all of our stuff:)
As soon as we got settled, we headed to the pool. Cade got to try out his new swim trunks and go for his 1st dip. Thanks Audra for letting us borrow your water proof bjorn:)

Drying off .... such a ladies' man:) Look at those abs!
Too legit to quit:) Future heart breaker or what?!

Chillin' like a villain!

Like father, like son. Love these 2 in their similar hats:)

And their coordinating Quiksilver trunks:)

Enjoying some R & R together...

Time for another dip in the pool. Cade wasn't so sure if he liked it or not. He was trying to figure out what was going on:)

So much action for one day... somebody needed a nap!

Not for long though! Ready to play for round 2!
Getting some love from Mimi & Poppy...

Family portrait!

One more...

This was taken on our way out to dinner downtown. We all got dressed and then noticed we were dressed in the same colors. Great for a pic! We didn't even plan it, I promise! :)

Party of 3...
Party of 5...

We had such a great vacation. Once the packing was done, it was smooth sailing. When do we get to go back?? :)
