Random Summer Photos

We went to the mall to get Cade's 3 year pictures taken.  After leaving the portrait studio we saw this:
Of course we had to let the 3 year & 1 day year old boy go for a jump!
Berkley got to play in the play zone.  I think all malls need to have these zones.
My brother Chris, his wife Aimee, and their son Brennan came out from Texas for a visit last week.  My mom kept saying that the boys (cousins) would probably have a ton of fun this summer since Cade is now 3 (Brennan 5) and can better keep up with Brennan.  My bro and I were skeptical since the boys live so far away from one another and only see each other about once a year.  We talk about them all the time but they still don't 'know' each other.

Well, my mom was right!  These 2 boys had SO. MUCH.FUN together.  It was the neatest thing to see.  In fact, we are already making plans for us to fly out to Texas in December.  We can't wait a whole year.

Here are the boys during our Disney trip.  Brennan got a sword so of course Cade needed one too. :)  Here they are sword fighting while we wait for a show to start.
The fair is in town!  We love the fair and the people watching that comes with it.  On opening night we had tickets to see Motorcross.
So cute.... Cade said he wanted to hold Berkley on his lap :)

Happy 3rd Birthday To Our Sweet, Rambunctious Boy!

I don't know who was more excited for Cade's birthday this year :)  I was so excited since he now understands and 'gets it'.  Brad and I stayed up the night before to decorate and set the scene.

Cade woke up and said, "It's my birthdaaaaay!!!!!"  He was so excited to run out and see if presents were out.

He also made sure that we called him "Birthday Boy" all day :)

We had donuts and then went to Downtown Disney to make a remote control car that he had been begging for for months.
This darn car was expensive!  We got the 'basic' one and it was still $104!  Here is Firetruck Mater!
Later that night we went to Farrell's.  We invited Grammer and Will to come with us.

Love the funny faces in the 2 pics below.  This is Cade's new thing evidently.

The lucky birthday boy won this red stuffed bear in the 'claw' game.  Nobody ever wins at that game.  So crazy!  It was a GREAT day from sun up to sun down.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OUR SWEET, SWEET, ENERGETIC BOY!  You are so much fun and all boy for sure!

4th of July & Cade's 1st Bike!

For the past few years, I have started July 4th with a race.  This year was no different.  It is a 5k (3.1 miles) in Huntington Beach.  I run there from our house in Newport, run the race, and then run home.  It gives me 13+ miles.  This was fun. I dressed for the occasion.
I rushed home to get these 2 cutie pies dressed and ready for the day.  Our community center had donuts, a parade, and then a carnival with bounce houses, games, and food.
Walking to the festivities...
Cade's birthday is July 9th.  Mimi & Poppy gave him his birthday gift a day early.  He was soooo excited to get the "police bike" that he had been asking for.  There is something so cute about a boy and his very 1st bike :)
We weren't sure how he would do since he just turned 3.  (Actually, I was the only one who thought he would be fine.  I figured if you can ride a tricycle, why can't you ride a bike?  Everyone else was skeptical though.)

We were all so proud of him... he took off in no time!
And Berkley took over Cade's scooter.  She was pretty darn good at it too!
All that bike/scooter riding was tiring.  We headed into Mimi & Poppy's house for a popsicle.

It's Summer!

...and we have been busy. I have majorly slacked with this blog. In fact, I thought I was done blogging... however, then I realized that I wasn't doing anything with the pictures I was taking.  So, in an effort to keep documenting our lives, here we go.  We have a lot of catching up to do!

Brad and I went to the river with friends.  As always, we had a blast!  Here is a fun shot.  Girl shooting guns in her bikini :)
Here is one of my favorite photos of Miss Berkley :)
Of course, we have hit up Disney quite a few times....

Cade & I making funny faces :)  He might not look like me, but this little boy definitely has his Mama's personality!

 Nap time!
These next 2 pictures are some top favorites of Berkie.

LOVE when I catch these 2 holding hands in the back of the car.

 Lego store...
 Chick Fil A.
Playing in the fountains at The Irvine Spectrum.
Hanging out with Miss Marley in lululemon:)
 Fun at Fashion Island.

Katie came out for her summer visit from Oregon!

Race Time Again... Off to Run Ragnar Today!

It's race time again!  Today is the SoCal Ragnar Relay.
200 miles
12 runners
2 vans
Let's do this.

I'm packed and ready to run!

Boston: Part 3

These are all of the photos taken on my camera.

On our second day in Boston we had lunch at Whiskey's.  It was pretty good.  I noticed that it was hard to find healthy menu items.  So much was fried and fatty.  So different from Cali menus.  Fun atmosphere though!

This picture is crazy.  This was taken the day before the bombing, in what I think was the exact spot of where one of the bombs was dropped.  I wanted a picture of the finish line.
This was taken as we were walking in to the pre race pasta dinner

We could have sat down at a table but we didn't see any open seats right away (turns out there were tons around the corner).  We are used to standing and eating fast with the kiddos so it seemed normal :)

Heading back to the hotel to get some sleep before the big race the next morning.
Brad took these next few photos during the race.  An elite runner!
I think this was one street over from the race.
This is towards the end of the race.  I think we had 1 mile to go at this point.

Cheers!  Breakfast and mimosas at the airport before flying home.
Picked up the hat - one last souvenir - in the airport.
Whoops - I forgot to add this picture of Katherine Switzer.  She was the 1st woman to run the marathon.  From what I was told, she registered as a male.  Around mile 9, the race director jumped in and tried to pull her off the course.  The male runners stopped him and urged her to keep running.  I need to google this to see if that is accurate.
LOVE this!
Brad and I feel so blessed that we were safe from the tragedy at the finish line.  I pray for all of those that have been affected.  Such a senseless act.  When I think about it I am speechless.  There are no words I can say.  I will pray instead.
