Parents Getaway: San Diego

During Christmas break my aunt offered to keep the kids overnight.  With 24 hours to ourselves Brad and I decided to spend the night in downtown San Diego.  We had so.much.fun on our 24 hour date!  Thank you so much Bee!

Here we go!  Woo hoo!

 

We checked in, threw our bags in the room, and headed out to find lunch.  We ended up at Dick's Last Resort.  The food was ok, but it is a real fun atmosphere.

 

 

After our bellies were full, we went to have an adult beverage :)

 

We checked out the menu (below) to see what they had for dinner and everything looked great!  We decided to come back there for dinner.

 

 We finished our drinks and headed to a really fun pub by Petco Park.  Anytime they have peanut shells on the floor, I'm in.  There had shuffle board, basketball, etc.

 

 

After Bub's (peanut pub), we walked back to our hotel where Brad went upstairs and I kept trucking to Horton Plaza to do a little shopping.

 

We reconvened a while later and got ready for dinner.  We headed back to Barley Mash and then walked over to SHOUT, a super fun piano bar.  We stayed there for a few hours.  It was so much fun!

We slept in.... well, Brad did.  I still woke up at 5:30pm, which technically IS sleeping in compared to the 4:30am wake-up call I sometimes get from the two monkeys :) 

It was kind of good though because I then had time for a 10.5 mile run around San Diego before we packed up to head home.  Oh, but not before hitting the continental breakfast that we love.  I filled 4 plates :)  Hey, it's all you can eat! :)
