18 Miler

Well, we did it again. Sally and I pushed our bodies even farther than the week before. We had to run 18 miles yesterday for the marathon training. The craziest part is that Sally is not even running the marathon... yet she still does all the training with me! I love her for that! And for other reasons of course:) Because we had to go so far (and it took over 3 hrs!) we decided to start earlier this time... at 6:30am. This is why it is overcast and misty in the pictures.

I decided to take this guy for the first 10 miles. Then we dropped him off at home with Brad. He loves the motion... puts him right to sleep. We stopped at a few of these for some 'liquid heaven' during a long run.

Posing with my lil' boyfriend:)

Great view, eh?

Sally & I...

Wish us luck! Next weekend is Sally and my LA Half Marathon. Should be easy since it is only 13.1 miles. That's cake compared to the 18 we just accomplished! The hard part will be getting out of the house by 4:30am! Pix will be posted soon!

Movin' Up In The World

Now that Cade is getting older, we get to bring out new, fun toys. I just love watching him get so excited as he explores this new 'world'. He played in his new bouncy chair for the 1st time yesterday. He absolutely LOVES it!

Gotta love all the toys in the background. Looks like a daycare facility. Brad asked if we can put one toy away for every new one we bring out... sadly, the answer was 'no'. The Cademan still likes all of his fun toys. Plus, putting away toys means Cade is growing out of them... and I just can't accept that yet:)

Mimi Spends the Night!

We lucked out and Mimi came to spend the night last weekend. Cade was so excited! He has a special bond with his Mimi... she can make him laugh and giggle like no one else!

Sugar Shack 'n Sharks

Cade and I had a playdate with Gina & Lizzie yesterday. We had a very fun and exciting day! We took a walk over to Main St. in Huntington Beach to hit up The Sugar Shack for some breakfast.... then we strolled down to the end of the pier. You'll never guess what we saw.... but before I show you, here are some pix of us playing with our Little Loves:)

Love this pic! Can we please freeze time to enjoy these moments over and over again?
Cade is thinking, "Check me out Mom... I already snatched a hot babe and I'm only 3 months old!"Me: Okay wait... hand holding!? Really? He is moving way too fast for me. I thought I was the only girl in his life?
So we had to separate them a bit:)
Cade evidently thought this was funny:)Ok, back to what we saw on our walk.... when we reached the end of the pier Gina pointed this out to me. I nearly jumped 10 feet! How crazy is this!?And 10 seconds after we saw the thrasher shark, another guy was trying to reel in this guy. As you can tell, he succeeded.

I was thinking that if Cade were older he would have loved to see this. I can imagine him coming home to tell Daddy how cool it was!
Thanks for having us over Gina & Lizzie! We are so happy to have friends like you to go on walks with, eat bacon & eggs with, have Mommy talk with & enjoy our Little Ones with!

3 Month Old Model

My bestest friend Katie & I took Cade in for his 3 month old pictures today. We had such a fun time. I think they turned out so darn cute. Yes, I am biased... BUT... the photographer asked me to sign a waiver so that they can hang Cade's pictures up in the studio!!! I guess I was right:) See for yourself.... do ya think we have a future model on our hands??

Nantie's Visit

Cade & I got to spend the day today with my best friend Kate. Katie lives in Oregon so this was very exciting! We even got the honors of picking her up from the airport so we got to be the 1st ones to see her. I miss her so much and just wish she would move down here already! We went to lunch and then to the mall where we had Cade's 3 month old pictures taken. (You will see them soon!) Katie has 2 boys of her own and as you can see below, she is a natural! Cade loves his Nantie (as do I)! :)

Happy 3 Month Birthday, Baby Boy!

3 month stats:
24.5 inches long (75th percentile)
12 lbs 2 oz (30th percentile)

My Sweet Baby Boy, Cade Kendall,

Where has the time gone? I cannot believe you are already 3 months old tomorrow! You are growing so fast and changing so quickly. I get so much joy out of just watching you experience new things in life. Your continuous smile is contagious to everyone around you. You are the happiest baby I have ever seen. I like to pretend it's because you are so happy to have me as your Mommy & Brad as your Daddy:)

I didn't think it was possible to love you more each day than I did the day before. My heart bursts with love for you. I feel so vulnerable and it is a bit scary to love someone this much. The love a Mommy has for her baby is like no other. I will do anything to protect you. The craziest part is that I felt this way 1 second after having you. Even before holding you, my precious baby, in my arms, I could already say this.

I want you to know how proud I am to be your Mommy. How did I get so lucky to call you my son? I thank God daily for giving you to Daddy & me. We prayed for you and God blessed us with you. You are so perfect. I often tell people, "if I knew how great being a mom was, I would've done it a long time ago." You make us so happy. Daddy and I love to giggle with you.

Your Daddy and I cannot wait to show you the world.

Love,
Your Mommy

Happy Early Halloween!

Cade wishes everyone a Happy and Safe Halloween! xoxo

Whatcha Think?

Look At Me! I'm Learning To Sit Up!

We have just started to use Cade's Bumbo seat to teach him to sit up. Judging by his face, I think he likes it!Especially when he has Daddy nearby to help and encourage him:)

Visiting Daddy On The Job

Cade and I visited Brad at work yesterday. Here is Cade helping his Daddy teach the math class:)

Fashion Show

This past weekend I had to do something I was not looking forward to.... yep, you guessed it... I had to pack away Cade's newborn clothes and slide his 3 month outfits into prime real estate on the closet bar. So sad. My Little Man will never be this little ever again. Never thought I would be so emotional about it. On the bright side, now he has a bunch of ADORABLE, CUTE, NEW fashions! Here is a sneak peak of what's coming down the runway this month....

A bit of rock-n-roll.... A touch of designer footwear...

Side view:)Some new jammies that say, "I'm In Charge, Just Ask Mom & Dad".... AND..... wait for it......
Accessorized with this wrist watch! Seriously, does it get any cuter than this?!

Next on the list.... his "King of The Castle" stud muffin shirt... let's take a break to check out our model... I don't know about you, but I think he is such a handsome little hunk-a-burning-love!

Now onto some warm winter apparel.... here comes Cade Jacobsen in his "Boys Will Be Boys" jumper. Check out that smile, ladies and gentlemen!
One more item in the sleepwear department... can you read it?
Let me help you with a close up:
Sheesh! Fashion shows are hard work! Our model is taking a break for a nap with Mimi. Don't worry - more fashion to come this month! :)

Run Baby Run - 14 Miler

In honor of our 14 mile run, I decided to bring out the big guns.... Cade's running shirt given to him from my sister-in-law, Aimee and my brother. Doesn't my little Runner-In-Training look cute!? :) What a motivator he is! He is the 'carrot' that dangles in front of me to keep me going. Here we are almost halfway done. My friend Sally did me the honors of joining me on today's run. She took the pic. I love it when when run together. Time flies b/c we are chit chatting so much! And yes, Cade is Mr. Fashionista in his shades... gotta block those rays, right?!

Sally often helps out and pushes Cade for me when I need a break. She says, "we are a team. We are in this together!" Isn't she so sweet? :)
Ok, Sally... this week comes the BIG 1-6 Miler! Start preparing and getting your game face on:)

Hangin' With Mommy's Cousins

Let me introduce you to Tori. She is my aunt Nancy's little girl. You can see Nancy in the upper left corner. These two are awesome! They frequently call and offer to watch the Cade Man so that we can go out on a date. Aren't we lucky!? Although as Tori says, "My mom is the babysitter and I am the dog-sitter." Tori is an animal lover.... and even though she doesn't admit it freely, she secretly LOVES Cade equally. Good thing b/c she is GREAT with him! Notice the 2 dogs each taking over one of Cade's gym mats. :)Next up - this is Natalie. She is my aunt Beth's daughter. She loves little Cade and calls often to check on the little guy. We love you Nat! Last but not least.... here is Yours Truly with her Little Boyfriend:) I was multi-tasking and talking to Brad at the same time.

Quote of The Day

Too funny not to share....

Brad came home from work, picked Cade up, and was loving him. They were having their boy-bonding time:) I then overheard Brad telling Cade: "You might as well be made of chocolate." Too cute! Brad and I always say we have to refrain from squeezing Cade so hard since he is just so darn adorable!
