Cade has learned a new trick.
Brad put him in bed for a nap and Cade was crying because he didn't want to nap. Brad let him go (hoping he would cry himself to sleep) until suddenly the crying stopped. Brad then heard very clearly, "Daddy! Daddy! Open the door". Then he heard knocking on the door. Cade had climbed out of his crib! Yikes! Now what do we do?? The mattress was already on the lowest setting.
We toyed with a few different options and ended up just putting the mattress on the floor. There are a few pieces of wood under the mattress to lift it up a few inches. Here it is: (Cade didn't want to pose for the picture, so he is hiding)
I asked him to show me how he got out of his crib (before we lowered it to the ground), and he never did do it. But, he kept going backwards like this:
I don't see how that would work...hmmm, guess we'll never know how Houdini did it!
We could've bought him a toddler bed, however, the kids share a room. This means that he often climbs INTO (and out of) Berkley's bed! I was scared that he would get up in the middle of the night and climb into her bed, waking her up, for a "party". The other day, he disappeared and I thought he was with Brad in the back. Turns out he went in their room while she was napping, and he climbed into her crib and woke her up. Cade climbing out of Berkley's crib:
I LOVE how much they love each other lately, but that is dangerous! Cade's favorite activity is "playing in Baba's (Baby's) bed with her". So cute. Makes me warm & fuzzy inside to see their friendship develop.
In Berkley news, she is now pulling herself up. This started a few weeks ago. She can even stand without holding on for about 15 seconds. She is also VERY chatty lately and likes to "talk" to herself.... or anyone that will listen :)
